Film world awaits Bafta ceremony Stars arrive for Bafta ceremony

A host of celebrities are expected to grace the red carpet at this year's Bafta awards, to be held later at London's Royal Opera House. Celebrities are arriving at the Royal Opera House in central London for this year's Bafta film awards.
The ceremony holds a greater significance following the cancellation of the Golden Globes and uncertainty over whether the Oscars will go ahead. Comedian Ricky Gervais was the first to appear on the red carpet, to be greeted by hundreds of reporters, photographers and screaming fans.
Oscar favourites Daniel Day-Lewis and Julie Christie are among the nominees expected to attend the event. He was followed by Daniel Day-Lewis, Keira Knightley, Daniel Radcliffe and Sir Anthony Hopkins, among many others.

This year's Baftas have taken on a greater significance this year following the cancellation of the Golden Globes in January.
