Slaven Bilic to leave Besiktas at end of season amid West Ham speculation

Slaven Bilic will leave Besiktas at the end of the season, increasing speculation that he may replace Sam Allardyce as West Ham United manager. The Croatian coach, who spent one season at West Ham as a player in the mid-1990s, will remain in charge of Besiktas two remaining games before leaving the club. “We will part on good terms,” the Besiktas president, Fikret Orman, told Hurriyet. “The new manager will be a name nobody can dispute. He will be the architect of our future success to take us to the next level in our new stadium.” Allardyce’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he is expected to be told on Monday that his deal will not be renewed. West Ham have been linked with a move for David Moyes but the former Everton and Manchester United manager said this month that he would be staying with Real Sociedad. Bilic spent six, mainly successful years with the Croatia national team before taking over at Dynamo Moscow for one season. He has been the manager of Besiktas since 2013. |
