He was taken to the Western General but later died. Mr Craig, from Livingston, was taken to the Western General. He died on Sunday.
Police Scotland are trying to trace the cyclist, who did not swap details with the jogger at the time. He was a leader for a jogscotland group called Livi Road Runners. Billy Mitchell, head of jogscotland, said he would be sorely missed.
He said: "We are terribly sad to hear that Peter has passed away, and our hearts go out to his family and friends.
"Peter trained as a jog leader last year, and inspired his colleagues at Asda in Livingston by setting up a workplace running group.
"More recently, his great enthusiasm saw him extend the group to reach out beyond the store and welcome people from the wider community."
He added: "We are tremendously grateful for everything he achieved, and we know his group members will sorely miss his encouragement and expertise.
"His legacy will certainly endure in the lives of those he inspired to get active, and in the friendships forged and strengthened through his group."
Mr Craig lived in Livingston but grew up in Dumfries where he attended St Joseph's College and still had family.
Sgt Gary Taylor, of Police Scotland, said: "This was a tragic accident and our thoughts go to Peter's family at this very sad time."
