Officers were called to the Globe Hotel in Main Street, Cockermouth, shortly after 3am on Sunday when the man was discovered. He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Police have issued a description of the victim who they are yet to identify. He is described as a white male, of stocky to heavy build, 5ft 9in to 10in, clean shaven, with a shaven head. He has a distinctive black panther tattoo on his upper right arm and an Alsatian dog’s head tattoo on his upper back, between the shoulder blades. He is aged between 35 and 50.
