Version 0 of 1.

Bye bye Blossom.

The world’s tallest cow has died on her owner’s farm in northern Illinois after holding the title for less than a year.

The cow’s owner, Pat Hanson told the Journal-Standard newspaper that her 6-foot-4 cow, Blosom, died on May 26 on her farm near Orangeville.

Ms Hanson said she was unsure what had happened to the 13-year-old Holstein, but that she had found her lying down in the pasture. After calling two vets and being told there was nothing that could be done, she decided to put her down.

Ms Hanson was notified last August that Blosom had been named the world’s tallest cow.

And Although she has now died, the 2,000-lb cow will retain the title for now. Blosom will appear in the 2016 edition of the Guinness World Records book.

Blosom has been buried in her favorite pasture, with her head facing east toward the farm. Ms Hanson told the newspaper: “Blosom still looks over the farm she loved.”
