Police are hunting a 47-year-old man after a woman was stabbed in Cardiff. Police have appealed for a 47-year-old man to give himself up after a woman was stabbed in Cardiff.
South Wales Police said they were investigating an "ongoing domestic-related incident" after the assault just before 10:30 BST. The woman remains in a serious condition at the city's University Hospital of Wales after the incident in Grangetown at 10:30 BST.
The woman, who was seriously injured, was taken to the city's University Hospital of Wales by ambulance. South Wales Police said they want to speak to Arnel Martinez Raymondo from Roath "as a matter of urgency".
Part of Penarth Road in Grangetown was closed but has now reopened, while there is still a police presence at Fitzalan High School, Lawrenny Avenue. Officers described the stabbing as an isolated domestic incident.
Acting Superintendent Jim Hall from Cardiff Bay police station said: "We are very keen to contact Mr Raymondo and ask him to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.
"I want to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider danger to the general public."
Parts of Penarth Road were closed as an investigation got under way, and there was a precautionary police presence at Fitzalan High School in Lawrenny Avenue.
