Centre Court was evacuated initially, with an announcement ordering anyone remaining inside the building to leave immediately.
A further announcement followed, requesting anyone on the tea lawn between gates four and five to evacuate.
Minutes later, everyone within the All England Club grounds was ordered to leave.
An earlier incident on Court One was a drill, tournament officials said.
Staff, including ball boys and ball girls, waited outside the gates as for further details of the more recent alarm.
Media were allowed to stay in the grounds, in the confines of the press centre, adjacent to Centre Court.
