The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said Colin Berry, 49, was found with a handgun when unarmed officers carried out a drugs raid on his home in April 2013. During a struggle with one of the officers the gun went off, fatally wounding Mr Berry in the head. The IPCC said there was no evidence to warrant any misconduct case. In a statement the IPCC said: "The investigation looked at all the circumstances of the incident and found the officers had acted appropriately throughout, from the decision to enforce the search warrant, to the raid on the house, to the care given to Mr Berry after he was injured." |
