Pope Francis already drawing millions on tour of South America
Version 0 of 1. Pope Francis is touring South America for the second time since becoming the head of the Roman Catholic Church and is expected to draw millions of people to Mass. If his arrival in Quito, Ecuador is any indication, those coming to see the pope may number in the tens of millions. More than half a million people lined the streets of Quito to welcome the pope to his home continent. After Ecuador, Pope Francis will visit Bolivia and Paraguay. He will not make it to his home country, Argentina, on this tour, according to the BBC. The pope's first Mass will be held in the Ecuadorian port city of Guayaquil, where a quarter-million people already were gathered at 3:30 am on Monday, waiting for the pontiff. The Vatican has said the pope will speak on poverty and inequality while in South America. "Progress and development must ensure a better future for all," he said in a speech on the Quito airport.
