Pakistan's Mohammad Asif and Shoaib Akhtar are to appeal against bans for testing positive for a banned steroid. Pakistan's Mohammad Asif has officially appealed against a one-year ban for testing positive for a banned steroid.
Shoaib has a two-year ban but his doctor Hamed Tauseef Razzaq said: "We will show the world he is innocent. His team-mate Shoaib Akhtar, who received a two-year penalty, has yet to file an appeal.
Asif's appeal is set to be heard soon by retired judge Fakhruddin Ebrahim, former Test player, Hasib Ahsan and Dr Danish Zaheer.
A PCB official said: "The tribunal will hear the appeal and should give a verdict within seven days."
