He said the park now "looked like something out of a war zone". "The place looks like something out of a war zone," he said.
"There was a centrepiece of the play area which was a high tower, a big slide, which was hugely popular. A lot of children enjoyed using it and it has been reduced to a shell.
"There is a extensive damage on seats, matting and equipment and it is going to run into tens of thousands of pounds to repair and replace.
"I am livid with rage because there were a lot of people in the locality who worked tirelessly to get the provision in place."
