Man found in rubbish lorry dies

A man has died after being discovered in the back of a rubbish lorry, police have said.

Nottinghamshire police said they received a report of a man "seen in the back of a refuse collection vehicle" in Nottingham at about 5.10am on Thursday.

A spokesman for the force added: "The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he later died."

Police have shut Lyndhurst Road in the Sneinton area of the city near where the incident took place while officers carry out inquiries. The investigation into how the man came to be in the truck is still in the early stages, according to the force.
