A new cold front is expected to hit eastern Australia on Tuesday bringing snow down to 500 metres in western Victoria and frosts on Wednesday morning in the cold, dry air behind the front. It will affect much of NSW by Thursday.Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Scott Williams said temperatures across Victoria were generally only 1C to 3C below average.“While we’re a little bit below the average, we’re having a fairly long run of days that are a little bit below average,” he said.On Monday, Queensland had its first snow in two years at Eukey, south of Stanthorpe, near the NSW border. The BoM says the light snow shower, around midnight on Monday, is likely to be the only snow in the Sunshine State, but frost will affect inland Queensland from the Granite Belt to the Atherton Tablelands again on Tuesday.Thangool, near Biloela in western Queensland had a low of -1.3C on Monday. | A new cold front is expected to hit eastern Australia on Tuesday bringing snow down to 500 metres in western Victoria and frosts on Wednesday morning in the cold, dry air behind the front.
