Camilia Lupu, originally from Romania but living in Oldham, was reported missing on 26 June. The teenager was believed to have been travelling with Romanian national Alin Coman, and her parents issued an emotional plea for her return. She handed herself in to police in the Almeria Province of Spain yesterday, Greater Manchester Police said. Mr Coman remains wanted on suspicion of child abduction. Police described him as white, of slim build with short, dark receding hair and a mole in the middle of his forehead. Det Insp Mark McDowall said: "Obviously everyone is delighted with the news that Camilia is safe, well and under the protection of the Spanish police. "Greater Manchester Police is now working with the Spanish authorities and social services in the UK to bring her home. "A young girl has escaped potential harm and will hopefully now be returned home safely." |
