Detectives investigating the death of a man in a hit-and-run have released images of three men they want to trace in connection with the crash. James Gilbey, 25, from Bramley, died after he was hit by a blue Volkswagen Golf while crossing Stanningley Bypass on Monday night. West Yorkshire Police said two men were seen trying to recover a number plate from the scene before speeding off. The force said it wants to trace Majid Malik, Adnan Ahmed, and Kesser Hussain. Mr Malik, 27, Mr Ahmed, 29, and Mr Hussain, 22, all from the Bradford area, are wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. 'Deliberately evading police' Det Ch Insp Elizabeth Belton said: "It is absolutely vital that we trace these men as soon as possible and I am appealing to the public to help us establish their current whereabouts. "We are certain that these men are aware that they are wanted in connection with this incident and that they are deliberately evading the police and may be attempting to leave the country." Earlier the force said the two men seen attempting to recover the broken registration plate had left when they saw witnesses approaching without making any attempt to check on Mr Gilbey. Mr Gilbey was hit by a Golf, registration LC07 NNX, travelling towards Pudsey. |
