Heavy rain overnight has been causing problems on roads around the country, with flooding and surface water leading to delays. The second day of The Open golf championship in St Andrews has resumed after heavy rain forced play to be suspended early on Friday morning.
Showers got worse as Jaco van Zyl, Mark Calcavecchia and Marcel Siem teed off at 06:32 and they had only reached the first green when they were called off.
Greens, fairways and bunkers were flooded.
The rain also caused problems on roads around the country, with flooding and surface water leading to delays.
Peter Dawson, R&A chief executive, told BBC Scotland: "It has been a very tough morning. It started raining just before 05:00 and we've had 20mm since then, 12mm of those in a very short time period and the course started to puddle and flood in certain areas,"

"This a very sandy golf course and once it starts to drain you will find it dries very quickly.
"If there is any course which can take this it is the Old Course at St Andrews."

At The Open play was suspended at 06:46, before the first group had even managed to finish the first hole on the second day of the 144th championship. Warnings about problems were issued for road users on the M9, M90 and A90.
The downpour saw a torrent of water gushing down Golf Place, the road leading to the R&A clubhouse, with the greens quickly flooding.
R&A chief executive Peter Dawson told the BBC: "It has been a very tough morning. It started raining just before 5am and we've had 20mm since then, 12mm of those in a very short time period and the course started to puddle and flood in certain areas.
"The worst rain has passed. We will have a showery spell which we are assured will be over by 10.
