Version 0 of 1. The mother of murdered Daniel Pelka killed herself in prison, an inquest has heard. Magdelena Luczak, 29, was found dead in her prison cell at HMP Foston Hall in Derbyshire at 7.15am on Tuesday. An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned at Derbyshire coroner’s court on Friday morning. The cause of death was recorded as hanging. Luczak and her partner, Mariusz Krezolek, both originally from Poland, were convicted of murder and sentenced to at least 30 years in jail in August 2013 after blaming each other for the head injury that ultimately caused four-year-old Daniel’s death. Daniel, who was born on 15 July 2007, weighed just 10kg (1st, 9lbs) when he died in March 2012. |
