Inquiry after body of Baglan man, 70, found in Margam

The unexplained death of a 70-year-old man is being investigated by police in Port Talbot.

The man's body was discovered near the A48 road at Margam between Margam Crematorium and the entrance to the Tata sports ground.

South Wales Police believe the man is from Baglan but he has yet to be formally identified.

Police are appealing for witnesses. The man's body was discovered on Friday at 22:00 BST.

A post mortem examination will be held to ascertain the cause of death.

'Busy road'

He was dressed in a black tracksuit with a vest underneath and black casual shoes.

He was slim built with a thin face and average height with grey hair

Det Insp Mark Kavanagh said: "We are appealing to anyone who has seen a man fitting the description between 6pm and 10pm on Friday night to come forward.

"It is possible that he has walked to where he was found along the main road from Port Talbot town centre to Margam which is a busy main road."
