Sunday trading? What about Sunday mating?
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/jul/21/sunday-trading-what-about-sunday-mating Version 0 of 1. Re your editorial (Free time, 20 July), my father, born into a working family in Sheffield before the first world war, always thought he was conceived on a Sunday afternoon (his dad’s one day a week off). He was convinced his siblings were likewise conceived while he and the rest were at Sunday school, the one time of the week his hard-working parents had time and energy to be intimate together. Dad trained as a metallurgist, his brothers as engineers, and all played important roles as skilled workers during the second world war and afterwards in the country’s reconstruction. Given that Britain is short of skilled workers, there might be a case to place reproduction ahead of productivity and have a little fun at the same time.Richard HowsonLeeds |
