The Foreign Office is investigating the incident and did not confirm the name when contacted. A spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office said: "We can confirm the death of a British national in Granada, Spain on 21 July 2015.
The Mail Online reported a spokesman from the Guardia Civil in Granada as saying that the woman's death is under investigation. "We are liaising with the Spanish authorities and have contacted the family to offer support at this difficult time."
"The matter is still under investigation and it is too early to draw any conclusions at this stage," the officer was quoted as saying. The Foreign Office did not confirm the name of the woman when contacted.

A spokesman for the Guardia Civil in Granada quoted by the Press Association said: "She was staying with her aunt for a few days and that relative was present when the tragedy occurred at the Tablate Bridge in the Alpujarras area.
The report said that the woman died when she hit one the bridge's support columns. "When emergency services arrived the deceased was still hanging from the rope.
"Although it is too early to draw any conclusions about the circumstances of the death, one of the lines of inquiry is that there was a miscalculation with the rope."
The woman is though to have died as a result of hitting one the bridge's support columns. She was reportedly doing her second jump of the day with a local extreme sports company.
