Britain: Boy Says He Tried to Incite a Terrorist Attack

Version 0 of 1. A 15-year-old British boy pleaded guilty to inciting a terrorist attack in Australia last April, prosecutors said Thursday. The boy was arrested on April 2 in northern England after the police found cellphone messages he had exchanged with a man in Australia regarding what prosecutors said was a plot inspired by the activities of the Islamic State group. The police in Melbourne, Australia, then arrested five teenagers who Prime Minister Tony Abbott said were planning to kill police officers during a parade to commemorate military veterans. The boy, who entered his plea in court via a video link, could not be named because of his age. He is to be sentenced Sept. 3. |
