Version 0 of 1.

Hip-hop heavyweight Grandmaster Flash’s car has been given to someone else after he parked it at a Manhattan garage, prompting New York City police to launch an investigation.

A New York police spokesman said on Friday the incident happened on 16 July about 7.30pm.

Police said Grandmaster Flash, whose real name is Joseph Saddler, parked his 2014 Dodge Charger in the garage in Chelsea. When he returned more than an hour later, the attendant told him he had given the car to someone else.

The hip-hop great voiced his frustration on Twitter, saying the car was packed with valuable goods.

If you haven't heard, Flash's car is missing, and the worst part about it is that it was full of priceless vintage records and equipment...

Police said the attendant said he “made a mistake”, thinking the person he turned to car over to was Grandmaster Flash. Detectives are investigating the incident as grand larceny. The car has not been found.

A man who answered the phone at the parking garage Friday night declined to comment.
