Exeter man dies after being hit by lorry

A man has died after being hit by a lorry on a busy Exeter shopping street.

The 78-year-old pedestrian, from the Exeter area, died at the scene.

Fore Street remained closed while police investigated the collision, which happened just before 13:00 BST.

Hugh Griffith, highways operations manager for Devon County Council, tweeted that the road was likely to be closed until the evening.
