A man has sustained a serious head injury during an overnight assault in Ballymoney, County Antrim. A man has been arrested over an assault in Ballymoney, County Antrim, that has left a 25-year-old man critically ill.
The 25-year-old was attacked in a car park off Castle Street at about 01:30 BST. The victim sustained a serious head injury when he was attacked in a car park off Castle Street overnight.
He was taken to hospital for treatment. It happened at about 01:30 BST near the rear of a hotel. He is in a critical condition in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.
The arrested man, who is 22, has been detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH).
