Man found bloodied in Greenock Cemetery dies

The man was found with a serious head injury in the graveyard, off the Inverclyde town's South Street, at about 20:00 on Thursday. He was in a critical condition when taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where he died on Friday. Police have said a port mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of the man's death. Officers have appealed for information. Det Insp Mark Bell, of Police Scotland, said: "At this time we are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and how the man sustained his injuries. "Officers are continuing inquiries in the local area and will be studying CCTV images in an effort to glean further information on this incident. "I would urge anyone with information that may assist our investigation to contact Police Scotland." |
