A plane that was part of a display team has crashed at the CarFest motoring event in Cheshire.A plane that was part of a display team has crashed at the CarFest motoring event in Cheshire.
Police have confirmed they are attending an incident at Oulton Park where the event is being held. Emergency services are at the scene in Oulton Park. The crash happened just after 14:00 BST.
There is no confirmation of any injuries or the type of plane involved. People attending have posted pictures on Twitter of smoke in the sky. BBC producer Justin Bones, who is at the scene, said two planes performed a low-level, close-proximity pass just before the crash.
Emergency services are at the scene. The BBC understands the crash happened just after 14:00 BST. One of the aircraft failed to pull up and crashed north of the circuit, he said.
Mr Bones said he did not see an ejector seat deploy from the aircraft, nor a parachute, and the plane possibly landed in a wood.
The identification of the pilot is not yet known. No injuries have been confirmed.

Adam Ignatowicz is attending the event and witnessed the crash. "I was at the shop. There were two planes flying around. One of them just seemed to do a dive where the car park is. Then there was a bang.
"There were emergency services running through. Air Ambulance is there now. Everyone's questioning what's happening. Everyone realised what had happened. The other plane went straight over to see what was happening."
