Those on board the stricken vessel were assisted by people on a nearby rented boat, Andy Long, from Datchet-based Kris Cruisers told the BBC. | |
"A family had hired our vessel the Sandringham Lady for a party, and they heard the explosion and saw the smoke. | |
"They went over and helped the injured people off their boat and on to ours. | |
"That boat effectively became an ambulance boat and they tended to the injured until the emergency services arrived," he said. | |
Thames Valley Police said officers remain at the scene and an investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of the explosion. | |
There are currently no road closures in place, but residents have been urged to avoid the area while emergency services continue to work at the scene. |
