The force said officers remain at the scene and an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the explosion. Those on board the stricken vessel were assisted by people on a nearby rented boat, Andy Long, from Datchet-based Kris Cruisers told the BBC.
There are currently no road closures in place, but residents have been urged to avoid the area whilst emergency services continue to work at the scene. "A family had hired our vessel the Sandringham Lady for a party, and they heard the explosion and saw the smoke.
"They went over and helped the injured people off their boat and on to ours.
"That boat effectively became an ambulance boat and they tended to the injured until the emergency services arrived," he said.
Thames Valley Police said officers remain at the scene and an investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of the explosion.
