Man arrested at Stansted Airport over terror offence

A man has been arrested at Stansted Airport on suspicion of a terrorism offence.

The 27-year-old was detained by Essex Police on suspicion of having false identity documents "with improper intention", a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

He was then further arrested on suspicion of engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

Police are also searching an address in north west London.

The man is in custody at a central London police station.
