Whale lost in Buenos Aires marina led towards the sea
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-33782698 Version 0 of 1. A whale that strayed into a marina in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires has been led out towards the sea. Hundreds of residents watched on Monday when the creature surfaced among yachts in the upmarket Puerto Madero area. But navy officials lured it away, and the whale was last seen close to the entrance to the Rio de la Plata river, which connects with the Atlantic. But there are fears that it may have suffered permanent damage from its time in freshwater. Migual Iniguez, from the Cethus Foundation, which was involved in the operation, said the whale looked sick and had skin problems. Some experts identified it as a minke whale, while others said it was a humpback. |
