Spice Girls plan reunion tour without Victoria Beckham Spice Girls reunion reports played down by Emma Bunton
(5 months later)
The Spice Girls the most successful girl group in history are reportedly set to reunite without Victoria Beckham. Emma Bunton has played down a report of a Spice Girls reunion, saying no concrete plans have been decided.
Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B will re-form for an international tour next year, according to the Sun newspaper. The most successful girl band in history are reportedly set to reunite without Victoria Beckham.
2016 will see the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut single Wannabe, which was released in 1996 and catapulted the five-piece to global stardom. Bunton was responding to a report by the Sun newspaper on Friday that she would be reuniting with Geri Halliwell, Mel C and Mel B but not Victoria Beckham for an international tour next year.
“If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing’s happening at the moment,” she told listeners to her Heart London breakfast radio show.
However, Bunton also posted a more equivocal, teasing message on Twitter, asking: “Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?”

Bunton was responding to Mel C, who tweeted: “Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!”

However, Dan Wootton, the Sun’s Bizarre columnist and head of showbiz, is standing by his story, tweeting that Bunton did not deny the report: “But no official announcement will come until later this year.”
And a note from me to people saying Emma "denied" story this AM. She didn't. But no official announcement will come until later this year.
