Blaze at town industrial estate Disused factory fire 'suspicious'

A fire has destroyed a building in the Loguestown Industrial Estate in Coleraine. A fire which destroyed a building in the Loguestown Industrial Estate, Coleraine, is being treated as suspicious.
It is understood the building, owned by roofing and lining company Haire Bros, suffered serious structural damage in Monday's blaze. More than 50 firefighters battled high winds for four hours to tackle the blaze on Monday evening.
There are fears that it could collapse. Initial concerns that the roof of the building may have contained asbestos proved false. The building is expected to be demolished later. It belongs to roofing and lining company, Haire Bros.
Group Commander Peter O'Reilly from the Fire and Rescue Service said his firefighters' safety was paramount.
"It was particularly dangerous in that it was an unoccupied factory or warehouse," he said.
"There have been a number of significant incidents across the UK and Ireland recently where firefighters have lost their lives or been put in danger. It is always foremost in our minds."
