Twenty-seven school pupils have simultaneously fallen ill at Outwood Academy in Ripon. Up to 40 school pupils have simultaneously fallen ill at Outwood Academy in Ripon.
North Yorkshire Police said they had "displayed signs of sickness and feeling faint sometime between 11:00 and 11.30". They showed signs of "sickness and feeling faint sometime between 11:00 and 11.30", police said.
It is not yet known what has caused the students at the school on Clotherholme Road to fall ill. Yorkshire Ambulance Service said children were being treated at the school on Clotherholme Road. A hazardous materials team also attended.
Paramedics have been at the scene treating majority of the ill pupils while two were taken to hospital. A parent of one pupil said two children collapsed during a Remembrance Day service to mark Armistice Day.
The man, who did not wish to be named, said: "I rang the school to check my daughter was OK. I was told a couple of children had collapsed during a remembrance service.
"As it finished another couple went down. That's when the fire brigade were called."
Lockdown

It is understood the school went into lockdown following the incident but pupils were later sent home.
They started to pour out of the school while police officers stood guard at the gates.
Parents gathered outside to meet the youngsters with many of them hugging as they met.
Five ambulances remained parked outside as well as at least four fire engines with their blue lights flashing.
MP for Skipton and Ripon Julian Smith said: "I am in touch with the school and I'm assured that the emergency services are responding and the situation is under control.
"The Secretary of State for education has been in touch to offer any support required from her department and I will be assisting in any way I can to help the school, parents and pupils."
A spokesperson for Harrogate District Hospital said two students were "seen at the minor injuries unit in Ripon by a nurse practitioner but were discharged with no significant medical conditions".
