The father of two children is due to appear before Prestatyn magistrates charged with their murders. A father has appeared in court charged with murdering his two young children.
North Wales Police confirmed on Wednesday night that Perry Samuel, 35, was charged with killing Aidan Samuel, three, and Caitlin, five. Perry Samuel, 35, is accused of killing Aidan, three, and five-year-old Caitlin at their Denbighshire home on Sunday.
The children were found in the bath at their home in Bodelwyddan on Sunday at aabout 2300 GMT. The children were found in the bath at the house in Bodelwyddan at about 2300 GMT. They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
They were discovered by two police officers after a 999 call and pronounced dead at Glan Clwyd Hospital. Mr Samuel, who is unemployed, was remanded in custody by Prestatyn magistrates to appear at Mold Crown Court on 17 November.
Mr Samuel was arrested at the scene. He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the 10-minute hearing.
Post-mortem examinations showed the two children died from asphyxiation.
A statement from North Wales Police read: "Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of the two children, and police would like to stress that this was an isolated incident which has horrified the community.
"North Wales Police will continue to maintain a presence in Bodelwyddan to provide reassurance to the local residents .
"Family liaison officers will continue to work with Sarah and both her extended families through this traumatic period. They will also work closely with the LEA at the school where both Caitlin and Aidan were pupils."
Both children were pupils at Ysgol y Faenol school in Bodelwyddan.
