Seven girls hurt in car crash near Liverpool school | |

Seven girls aged between 11 and 17 have been injured in a collision with a car near a Liverpool school, police have said. | |
Two girls were "seriously" injured in the 15:20 GMT crash in Belvidere Road, according to the emergency services. | |

Merseyside Police said none of the girls are thought to be in a life-threatening condition. | |
Consultant paramedic Mike Jackson, who was first on the scene, said two of the girls had serious "time-critical" injuries and a further three were likely to have fractured limbs or head injuries. | |
He described the remaining victims as "walking wounded". | |
Belvedere Academy, a nearby girls school, posted a statement on its website which said: "Unfortunately there was a serious accident outside the Academy. | |
"Six of our students sustained injuries, some quite serious but not life-threatening. The emergency services were on the scene very quickly and dealt efficiently with the situation." | |
