Second alert over 'white powder' White powder alerts were hoaxes

There is a second alert about a package containing white powder in Belfast city centre. Security alerts which started after packages containing white powder were sent to two offices in Belfast city centre have been declared hoaxes.
Emergency services are at the Sunday World's offices in Commercial Court after a journalist is believed to have opened the package. The first alert was at the Police Ombudsman's office in Church Street, the second at the Sunday World's offices in Commerical Court.
An earlier alert sparked by a parcel found in post at the Police Ombudsman's Office in Church Street, was an elaborate hoax. The fire service examined both parcels which were found to be harmless.
Police, seven fire engines and two ambulance crews attended the scene. However, police have warned anyone receiving a similar package not to touch them, but to contact them.
