One person is missing and two others have been airlifted to hospital after being pulled from the sea on the East Sussex coast.One person is missing and two others have been airlifted to hospital after being pulled from the sea on the East Sussex coast.
A search at Camber Sands is continuing for the missing person who was last seen in the water. Sussex Police were called just after 12:30 BST to reports of a number of people in difficulty in the water.
South East Coast Air Ambulance Service confirmed two males had been rescued from the sea and resuscitated before being taken to hospital. South East Coast Air Ambulance Service said two males were resuscitated before being taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A spokesman said both were in a life-threatening condition. Lifeboats joined coastguard helicopters to search for the missing person.
The coastguard, the RNLI and police were all involved in the search. The three RNLI lifeboats were stood down at 16:20 BST.
The RNLI said it received a call to launch a lifeboat from Rye Harbour at 12:40 BST.
Elizabeth Howarth was on the beach at the time. She tweeted: "We were on the beach just before it happened. Kids in the sea, no red flags.
