A section of the M3 motorway has been closed after a fatal three-vehicle crash. A man killed on the M3 had wandered on to the carriageway after his car came off the road, the ambulance service said.
The southbound carriageway will be closed for several hours between Winchester services and junction 8 for Andover. Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash that closed the southbound lanes between Winchester services and junction 8 for Andover.
One man died in the crash, which happened at about 06:40 BST, Hampshire Constabulary said. The accident happened at about 06:40 BST and the motorway has now been reopened.
The man was declared dead at the scene and a woman was treated for shock.
