The body was found in the landscaped Victorian parkland surrounded by terraced houses and former textile mills. The boy's body was found in a walled garden by two members of the public who rang for an ambulance.
The walled garden had recently been transformed into a wildlife garden, but police have closed the whole of Crow Nest Park to the public while investigations continue.
