Five cyclists have been seriously injured in a crash with a car in Brisbane’s West End. A woman cyclist is in a critical condition and four others have been injured after being involved in a collision with a car in Brisbane’s West End.
A Queensland ambulance spokeswoman said two of the cyclists had possible head injuries after the incident on Friday morning and were taken to Princess Alexandra hospital. The other three suffered varying leg and arm injuries and were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s hospital. The Queensland ambulance service said five people were injured when the car hit the group of cyclists on Dornoch Terrace in Highgate Hill at about 6.20am on Friday.
Two patients have been treated for possible head injuries, including a woman who is in a critical condition, and were taken to Princess Alexandra hospital.

The cyclists were travelling along Dornoch Terrace in Highgate Hill when the incident occurred around 6.20am. The other cyclists have leg and arm injuries and were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s hospital.
Dornoch Terrace was closed to traffic as police began investigating the incident. It was later reopened, the Courier Mail reported. Reports from the scene indicate the driver may have been performing a U-turn and been blinded by the sun.
