A 13-year-old boy has been arrested over the stabbing of another teenager in the Moston area of Manchester. A 13-year-old boy is being held over the stabbing of another teenager which has left him with life-threatening injuries.
The attack on Worsley Avenue has left a teenager, 15, with life-threatening injuries, police said. The victim, 15, from Manchester, was found unconscious at 19:10 BST on Tuesday on Worsley Avenue, Moston, Manchester, said police.
The victim was found injured at 19:10 BST on Tuesday and officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward. Police said a knife had been recovered but it was too early to speculate on the motive.
Insp Matt Oxley said: "This was a horrific attack on a young boy who is now fighting for his life. My thoughts are with him and his family." There was no evidence to suggest it was gang-related, police said.
Ch Supt Was Chaudhry, of Greater Manchester Police (GMP), said: "The victim is in a very serious condition... it is life-threatening at the moment."

Insp Oxley said: "We have made an arrest, however we are still trying to piece together the puzzle and would appreciate the public's help." Ch Supt Chaudhry said the teenager in custody was not a relative of the victim, but it had not been established if they knew each other.
Parish priest Martin Saunders of St. Dunstan's Church, Moston said he was "very upset and shocked" by the stabbing. He said there would be extra patrols in the area to reassure the public and to support the investigation.
