| My husband and I watched Carry On Nurse in Tenerife (Letters, 19 December). It was dubbed into German, with English subtitles. The stolid audience sat through it with barely a giggle. But we were in gales of laughter. Incidentally, when Gene Pitney was found dead in a Cardiff hotel room, he was only 24 miles from Treorchy. Isn’t the fact that she had these boots in the 1970s the answer?
