Officers are trying to establish the identity of the dead person. A police spokesman confirmed: "Tayside Police has cordoned off an area of the Buddon golf course at Carnoustie in Angus this morning following the discovery of a body on the course.
"Officers attended at the course shortly after 6.40am and found the body, which had been badly burned.
"At the same time as carrying out a meticulous examination of the scene, efforts are now under way to try and establish the identity of the deceased."
