Murder inquiry over town stabbing Man killed after daughter's 18th

A man has been stabbed to death in Dungannon, County Tyrone. A married father-of-three has been stabbed to death in Dungannon, County Tyrone.
It happened in the Lisnahull area early on Saturday. A number of people are being questioned by police. The man, named locally as Eamonn Hughes, was attacked in the Lisnahull estate early on Saturday, after leaving his daughter's 18th birthday party.
It is understood there were disturbances in the area, during which several other people were injured. It is understood two women who tried to help him were hit by a stolen taxi. Several people have been arrested and the police are examining the scene.
Their conditions are not known, but two people are believed to have been struck by a car. Police have appealed for information. Mr Hughes' father, Francis, was killed by loyalists 18 years ago.
Neighbours described Eamonn Hughes as a "generous family man" involved in fundraising for his local community.
