Three people were found shot Saturday evening in Northwest Washington, D.C. police said. Two people were fatally shot Saturday evening in Northwest Washington, the D.C. police said. A third person was wounded in the triple shooting..
Units responding to a call shortly after 5 p.m. found two men and a woman with gunshot wounds, a police spokesman said. The spokesman said the men were unconscious and not breathing, while the woman was alert and breathing. The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. in an apartment house at 13th and Peabody Streets in the Brightwood neighborhood, according to police.
Police found the victims in the 6000 block of 13th Street NW, a residential street in the Brightwood neighborhood. The two people who were slain were described as older male teenagers.One died at the scene and the other at a hospital, according to police chief Peter Newsham who went to the scene. The woman’s wounds appeared not to be life threatening, police said.
By late evening, police had cordoned off a block around the scene and were going in and out of a four-story apartment building. Newsham said the victims were found in a hallway of the four story brick apartment house. He said there were indications that one or more of them may have been targeted, but police released no motive in the shootings.
Police said a small black vehicle was spotted fleeing the scene. No further information was immediately available. Police said someone was spotted leaving the building and driving north on 13th Street in a small black auto. He was not described.
