'Back door'
A detective told the court how the police had arrived at the home of Shane and Tanya McFall at Fairmount Park shortly before 0630 GMT on Tuesday.
He said they waited outside while Shane and Tanya told them they were getting dressed.
At this point, Tyrone McFall ran out through the back door but turned and went back inside when he saw more police officers, the court was told.
A short time later, those officers searched the house and found him hidden under a mattress.
He said Tyrone's father, Damien, was also in the house. He was fully clothed and appeared to have been sleeping on the sofa.
Shane and Tanya McFall claimed Tyrone had arrived at their house late the previous night and that they intended to return him to his legal guardian - his aunt Jacqueline - later that morning.
When asked about boy's clothing beside a bed, in a wash basket and on radiators, they made no comment.
Tyrone lived at his aunt Jacqueline's house as part of a care order made in 2007.
Under cross-examination, the detective confirmed Tyrone had run away on 29 November and had not been forcibly removed.
He said Tyrone had a mental age of six, was very small and that the police were concerned that his father had a very strong influence over him.
The detective said an enormous amount of resources had been used in the search for Tyrone.
He said the three accused had been very uncooperative with the police since the teenager was first reported missing, having refused to attend meetings about the possibility of making an appeal via the media.
He said police had been given information that Tyrone was at the home of Shane McFall and had searched the premises on a number of occasions without success.
