A controlled explosion has been carried out on suspicious objects in Poleglass, on the outskirts of west Belfast. A security alert in the Poleglass estate on the outskirts of west Belfast has been declared a hoax.
Reports were received of a number of suspicious items in the Ardcaoin Avenue area on Monday morning. The Army carried out two controlled explosions after a number of suspicious objects were discovered taped to lampposts.

An army bomb disposal team and police are at the scene. The immediate area around Ardcaoin Avenue and Ardcaoin Drive had been cordoned off. Residents in Ardcaoin Avenue and Ardcaoin Drive have now been allowed back in their homes.
