Manley's arrest followed an investigation which began in Poland.
Det Insp Sean Dawson, of Derbyshire Police's Public Protection Unit, said several computers and data storage devices were seized in the investigation.

He said: "Our Hi-Tech Crime Unit spent a significant number of hours examining Manley's computer, going through thousands of disturbing images to ensure he was brought to justice."
Sentencing Manley, Judge Michael Elsom said: "Society rightly takes a view of offenders such as you that only a sentence of imprisonment is appropriate.
"The people who really have to be protected in cases such as these are the very young children whose images you chose to view and stored in what can only be described as very large quantities indeed."
The court heard Manley used internet searches to find the images.

He had relied on the "ignorance" of his wife and son regarding technology not to get found out.
Timothy Achurch, prosecuting, said: "He [Manley] admitted that he used them for his own sexual gratification."
Manley stored and titled the images into separate files, the court was told.
He admitted that he was addicted to collecting the images and found it difficult to stop.

He has been struck off by the General Medical Council and disqualified from working with children. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register. Both Derbyshire Primary Care Trust and the Brooklyn Medical Practice - where Manley worked - reassured patients there had been no allegations involving his role as a doctor.
Manley's arrested followed an investigation which began in Poland. Dr Alan Meakin, of Derbyshire PCT, said Manley had been suspended from the medical register and it was likely that he would now be removed permanently.
Det Insp Sean Dawson, of Derbyshire Police's Public Protection Unit, said: "Once the case was referred to us from CEOPs, we carried out a detailed and thorough investigation, which resulted in a warrant being executed at Manley's home address. He said: "Manley's behaviour is totally unacceptable in a GP or any health professional.
"He was arrested and several computers and data storage devices were seized. "He will never be able to work as a GP in the UK again."
