The southbound carriageway remains closed between junctions 8 and 7 while investigations take place. Both carriageways were closed for the morning and into the afternoon but have since reopened.

The northbound carriageway was closed for six hours while the southbound is likely to reopen during the afternoon. The carriageways were closed for more than six hours leading to congestion and delays.
