Fourteen people have been arrested in a major police drugs raid in Wrexham. Fifteen people have been arrested in early morning drugs raids in Wrexham.

Chief Supt Thomson added that neighbours of some of the properties raided had come out in to the street to congratulate officers. He said: "Undercover officers were deployed for eight weeks prior to Christmas.
"I'm confident people will be charged today and appear before a court tomorrow."
Raids were carried out in the Queensway district near Caia Park, as well as Ruabon, Brynteg, Rhosllanerchrugog and other areas.
Chief Supt Thomson said neighbours of some of the properties raided had come out into the street to congratulate officers.
He added: "In one area, local people came out and were extremely pleased, and were clapping my officers on the back."

The raids were carried out in Caia Park in Wrexham, Rhosllanerchrugog, Ruabon and Brynteg. Chief Supt Thomson said the raids had been in response to ongoing concerns from residents about drugs in local communities, adding: "It's an ongoing battle for us and we fight as hard as we can."

He said he could "well understand" people applauding the raids.
Police said they were planning to distribute leaflets in the areas where the raids took place, informing local people what action had been taken, and reassuring them what steps were being taken to tackle drugs problems.
Chief Supt Thompson said he was aware the arrests could leave a "void" for people dependant on drugs.
