Meanwhile, search and rescue missions were launched for several participants of a race up Mount Snowdon, also in Gwynedd, on Saturday.
The police, RAF Valley and the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team rescued four people, one of whom later died.
Inspector Ian Maxwell urged everyone walking on mountains to "take extra care" and to ensure they were properly equipped.
"They should ensure that somebody knows where they are planning to walk and that they have the experience and capability to deal with the locations they have chosen," he added.
